A message from the PSAC Fall School Political and Social Action Group:

Some of you may already know this, but 500 Sears workers working at
Sears’s Vaughan distribution warehouse have been locked out since
April 2010.  These are the only unionized Sears workers in Canada.
Since being locked out these workers have been picketing the entrance
to the warehouse 24 hours per day.  Having visited and walked the line
with them this weekend in solidarity, the PSAC Fall School Political and Social Action Group can tell you that they desperately need help.

Many of these workers belong to low and middle income families that
depend on these incomes.  To exasperate matters, their local president
passed away recently while on lockout.  If you haven’t heard of this
lockout, you are not alone.  Local and regional media outlets have
been reluctant to cover the lockout because many depend on Sears’s
advertising dollars.

A small group of us are trying to raise awareness of this lockout and
the the plight of these workers.  I encourage you to visit their
facebook page for more info, how to get involved, and to download info
leaflets: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=108850872485039.
